Ingredients
  

Tuna Mixture
  • 1 pound sushi-grade tuna finely diced
  • 1 medium ripe avocado diced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated
  • 1 teaspoon scallions finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds for garnish
Accompaniments
  • 4 slices cucumber for serving
  • 4 slices avocado for garnish

Method
 

Prepare the Tuna Mixture
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tuna, avocado, soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, grated ginger, and chopped scallions. Gently mix to combine without mashing the avocado.
Plate the Tartare
  1. Using a ring mold or a small bowl, pack the tuna mixture tightly and invert it onto serving plates. Remove the mold carefully.
  2. Garnish with sesame seeds and additional avocado slices. Serve immediately with cucumber slices on the side.
