Strawberry Syrup Ingredients
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed

Method
 

Prepare the Strawberries
  1. In a saucepan, combine the sliced strawberries and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Once boiling, reduce heat and let simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Make the Syrup
  1. Add the sugar and lemon juice to the saucepan. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Continue to simmer for another 5 minutes, allowing the mixture to thicken slightly.
  3. Remove from heat and strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer to remove the solids.
  4. Let the syrup cool before transferring it to a bottle or jar for storage.
