Method
Prepare the Strawberries
- In a saucepan, combine the sliced strawberries and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, reduce heat and let simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Make the Syrup
- Add the sugar and lemon juice to the saucepan. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Continue to simmer for another 5 minutes, allowing the mixture to thicken slightly.
- Remove from heat and strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer to remove the solids.
- Let the syrup cool before transferring it to a bottle or jar for storage.
