Ingredients
  

Cake Layers
  • 2 cups chocolate ice cream softened
  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream softened
  • 1 cup chocolate cake mix prepared according to package instructions
Frosting
  • 1 cup whipped cream for topping
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup for drizzling

Method
 

Prepare Cake Layers
  1. Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to package instructions and bake in a 9-inch round cake pan. Allow to cool completely.
  2. Once the cake is cooled, slice it in half horizontally to create two layers.
Assemble Ice Cream Cake
  1. Place one layer of chocolate cake at the bottom of the cake pan.
  2. Spread a layer of softened chocolate ice cream over the cake layer, smoothing it out evenly.
  3. Add the second layer of chocolate cake on top of the ice cream layer.
  4. Spread a layer of softened vanilla ice cream over the second cake layer, smoothing it out evenly.
  5. Cover the top with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 2 hours or until firm.
Finish and Serve
  1. Once the ice cream cake is firm, remove it from the freezer and carefully take it out of the pan.
  2. Top with whipped cream and drizzle with chocolate syrup before slicing and serving.
