Sweetener

Acid
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice Enhances flavor and helps preserve color.
Optional Additive
  • as needed pectin For a thicker texture.
Water
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup water Use just enough to blend the fruit smoothly.

Method
 

Prepare Ingredients
  1. Start by selecting your favorite fruits, such as strawberries, apricots, or apples. Wash and chop the fruits before blending them smoothly.
Make Puree
  1. Using a blender or food processor, blend the chopped fruits until they reach a silky-smooth consistency. You may want to add a little honey or lemon juice for sweetness and brightness.
Spread Puree
  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pour the fruit puree onto the sheet, spreading it evenly to about 1/8 inch thick.
Dry the Leather
  1. Preheat your oven to 140°F (60°C). Place your baking sheet in the oven and let it dry for approximately six to eight hours.
Cut and Store
  1. Once dried, remove the sheet from the oven and let it cool completely. Cut into strips using kitchen scissors and wrap each strip in parchment paper for storage.
Enjoy
  1. Store your fruit leather in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks. Snack on these delightful chewy treats whenever you crave something sweet and healthy!
