Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 racks Baby Back Ribs Look for meaty racks with a good amount of fat for tender results.
  • 1 cup Barbecue Sauce Choose your favorite brand or homemade recipe for the best flavor infusion.
  • 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar This adds acidity and enhances the sauce's depth.
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar Use light or dark brown sugar for caramelized sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Opt for fresh garlic if you prefer a stronger flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder This brings out savory notes.
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Adds a rich, smoky flavor.
  • to taste Salt and Pepper Essential for seasoning.
  • 1/2 cup Water or Broth Use low-sodium chicken broth for added flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by removing the silver skin from the back of the baby back ribs. Using a paper towel can help grip this slippery membrane. Cut the ribs into sections if they’re too large to fit in your crock pot.
  2. In a small bowl, mix your favorite dry rub ingredients, such as brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, and salt. Rub this mixture all over the ribs until they are well coated.
  3. Place half of your sliced onions and minced garlic at the bottom of the crock pot for added flavor. Then, carefully arrange the seasoned ribs on top, stacking them if necessary to fit.
  4. Pour your chosen barbecue sauce over the ribs, ensuring they are well covered. You can reserve some sauce for later glazing during serving.
  5. Set your crock pot on low and let those baby back ribs cook for 6 to 8 hours or until they are fall-off-the-bone tender.
  6. Once cooked, carefully remove the ribs from the crock pot using tongs. Brush additional barbecue sauce on top and broil in the oven for 5 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
