Ingredients

Beef Ribs
  • 4 pounds beef back ribs trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for coating
Dry Rub
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional for heat
BBQ Sauce
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce for basting

Method

Prepare the Ribs
  1. Preheat the grill to medium heat (about 300°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix together all the dry rub ingredients.
  3. Rub the olive oil over the beef ribs, then generously apply the dry rub all over the ribs.
  4. Let the ribs sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Grill the Ribs
  1. Place the ribs on the grill bone side down and close the lid.
  2. Cook for about 3 hours, turning every 30 minutes and basting with barbecue sauce during the last hour.
  3. Check the internal temperature; it should reach at least 190°F for tender ribs.
  4. Once done, remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
