- 4 oz German sweet chocolate bar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
- Mix in the buttermilk and melted chocolate until smooth.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until just mixed.
- Divide batter between prepared pans and bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
