  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the penne pasta in salted water until al dente; drain.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté bell pepper and onion until softened. Add ground meat and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Combine cooked pasta with the sauce mixture in a large bowl.
  6. In a baking dish, layer half of the pasta mix, then half of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers, finishing with more cheese on top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
