  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 smoked ham hock (or 1 cup diced ham)
  • 4 cups low-sodium vegetable broth
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Sauté onions, carrots, and celery in the Instant Pot on the sauté function with a splash of olive oil for about 5 minutes until softened.
  2. Add split peas and smoked ham hock; stir until well combined.
  3. Pour in vegetable broth and add bay leaves along with salt and pepper; stir gently.
  4. Seal the Instant Pot lid and set it to high pressure for 15 minutes.
  5. Allow natural pressure release for about 10 minutes before carefully opening the lid. Remove bay leaves and ham hock before serving.
