  • 2 large russet or Yukon gold potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with onions until cooked; drain excess fat.
  3. In a bowl, mix milk, salt, and pepper.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, half of the beef mixture, and some cheese. Repeat layers.
  5. Pour the milk mixture over the casserole and top with remaining cheese.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
