Description

Indulge in the warm, comforting flavors of Pumpkin Crème Brûlée this fall. This elegant dessert features a smooth pumpkin custard infused with warm spices and topped with a perfectly caramelized sugar crust.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 large egg yolks
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp demerara sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, heavy cream, granulated sugar, egg yolks, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture into ramekins placed in a baking dish and fill each about three-quarters full.
  4. Pour hot water into the baking dish until it reaches halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes until set but slightly jiggly in the center.
  6. Allow to cool at room temperature before refrigerating for at least two hours.
  7. Just before serving, sprinkle demerara sugar on top and caramelize with a kitchen torch or under a broiler.
