- 1 ripe avocado, sliced

Instructions
- In a large bowl, mash the black beans until mostly smooth but slightly chunky.
- Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic in a skillet over medium heat until golden brown.
- Combine sautéed onion and garlic with mashed beans, breadcrumbs, cumin, chili powder, and egg; mix well to form a thick mixture.
- Shape the mixture into four patties about ¾ inch thick.
