Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup firm tofu, crumbled
  • 1 cup green cabbage, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup carrots, grated
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 16 round dumpling wrappers
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine crumbled tofu, cabbage, carrots, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, and minced garlic. Mix until well combined.
  2. Place about one tablespoon of filling in the center of a dumpling wrapper. Wet the edges with water before folding into a half-moon shape and pinch to seal.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add dumplings without overcrowding.
  4. Fry until golden brown on one side (about 3-4 minutes). Add enough water to cover halfway and immediately cover with a lid to steam for about 5-6 minutes.
  5. Remove the lid and allow remaining water to evaporate while crisping up the dumplings for another 2-3 minutes.
