Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup firm tofu, crumbled
- 1 cup green cabbage, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup carrots, grated
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 2 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 16 round dumpling wrappers
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine crumbled tofu, cabbage, carrots, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, and minced garlic. Mix until well combined.
- Place about one tablespoon of filling in the center of a dumpling wrapper. Wet the edges with water before folding into a half-moon shape and pinch to seal.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add dumplings without overcrowding.
- Fry until golden brown on one side (about 3-4 minutes). Add enough water to cover halfway and immediately cover with a lid to steam for about 5-6 minutes.
- Remove the lid and allow remaining water to evaporate while crisping up the dumplings for another 2-3 minutes.
